I moved to Sandbank Dunoon Scotland to a property over looking the beautiful Holy Loch many years ago from North Wales. I converted part of the annexe of the house into a work shop to enable me to carry out my passion of woodturning.
Trees are one of natures most useful and recyclable creations, which can be transformed in to beautiful and stunning pieces of art.
I prefer to create my pieces from wood sourced in Scotland such as Beech, Spalted Beech, Oak ,Brown oak, Sycamore, etc. It gives meet great pleasure to choose Scotish hardwoods from my carefully selected suppliers from the Scottish Borders to the Black Isle.
My turned items have many practical applications for use around the home or as gifts for both Female and Male.
They include Bowls, Candle Sticks, Pot Pourries, Clocks, Pens, Speciality gifts such as Jewellery Boxes, Shaving kits, etc.
Larger items such as Wooden Mirrors, Foot stools, Tables and Table lamps and much more.
In 2013 I collaborated with a glass specialist to combine a wooden bowl with a glass insert which also has a light to enhance the colours of the glass, also a glass Thistle enbeded in a wooden surround.
I have a Whisky Collection which as been made from Whisky Barrel Staves from the East Coast of Scotland which includes Pens, Tables, Quaichs, Glass Holders and Bottle Holders.
